Overview: Delivering Operational Performance

The two-hour session will look at the development of organisational strategy through to operational delivery and the key skills leaders and managers need to deliver operational performance.

Course Objectives

  • To understand how organisational strategy relates to operational plans
  • To consider communication of organisational strategy in order to deliver operational plans
  • To understand the role of managers in delivering operational plans and achieving organisational performance
  • To consider the practical application of management and leadership approaches

Course content

  • Overview of why strategy, mission, vision, and values are important to operational management.
  • Look at the context within with you are managing and the culture of the organisation
  • Look at the role of teams and the role of the leader in achieving operational performance
  • The importance of communication
  • Setting and monitoring key performance indicators
  • Ensure you have the right resources in place to deliver.

Delivery: via Zoom, preparatory reading will be circulated prior to the event.

About the Workshop Leader

Angela Roberts - MBA, BA (Hons), Chartered FCIPD, Angela has over 30 years’ experience in Human Resource Management operating at a senior level in both public and private sector organisations with a track record of delivering major change projects.

She is a strategic thinker, experienced in developing and implementing strategy and policy whilst keeping the individual at the heart of her thinking, helping individuals to develop and reach their full potential.

She has a deep understanding of how organisations work and how individuals function in the workplace and has worked with companies to improve organisational performance whilst creating the right environment and culture to enable individuals to grow and perform to the very best of their ability.

Angela runs her own HR Consultancy business which she set up in 2013 and now employs seven people providing support to over 100 companies across the Midlands. Angela has lectured on the Charter Institute of Personnel Management qualification and currently coaches individual students through the programme at levels 3, 5 and 7. She has delivered apprenticeship programmes in operational management at levels 3 and 5 and supported students to achieve their CMI qualification.
